Wonderful! I'm wondering - what type of blueberry plants do you combine w your heather? I think I'll try heather in pots here in New England where it's just starting to warm up. I love your garden - my witch hazel is in full bloom.
Thank you for reading and you kind comments. I have three different bluberry bushes in containers, and the varieties are Aino, Darrow and Bluecrop. The first two are not easy to find, but any relatively dwarf variety would work.
I have sometimes regretted adding the heather plants, because I worry that they may be crowding out the blueberries. But they look really pretty when they flower and the bees love them. And so far I get really crops from the blueberries, so they don't seem to be doing too much harm :-)
When I lived on Cape Cod for 8 lovely years I had a splendid heather garden, big and it contained heath and lavender too - sooo many happy bees! I'm looking forward to this spring/summer/fall. I now have a front yard pollinator garden, about a half acre. Not as many bees and butterflies these days... Happy Spring 🌷
